Dr. Paul G. Byers


Credentials
After graduating in 1985 with a B.S. in Chemistry from Purdue University, Dr. Byers proceeded to Dental School at Loyola University of Chicago, College of Dentistry, where he graduated with his D.D.S. in 1989. To further his expertise in serving patients, Dr. Byers pursued and obtained a post-graduate Master of Science Degree in Operative Dentistry from the University of Michigan in 1998.
Dr. Byers obtained certification to provide Invisalign in 2006 and earned the title of Preferred Provider in 2011. He has also obtained a Mastership Certificate with the International Dental Implant Association in 2014.
Professional
Dr. Byers served in the United States Navy Dental Corps from 1989-2000. He completed a hospital-based General Practice Dental Residency at Naval Hospital Great Lakes from 1989-1990.
He was selected by the United States Navy Dental Corps to receive out-service training in Restorative/Operative Dentistry at the University of Michigan from 1995-1997.
From 1997 to 2000, Dr. Byers was appointed as Command Speciality Advisor in Operative Dentistry. He further served as Department Head for Osborne Clinic and Branch Director at Camp Geiger at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He was instrumental in designing the Camp Geiger dental clinic facility as well as his current dental practice facility.
Since 2000, he has been serving the Shenandoah Valley at Apple Valley Dental Group with his partner, Dr. Harry Sartelle.

Personal
Dr. Byers was born and grew up in Anderson, Indiana. He has been a life-long member of the Roman Catholic Church and enjoys singing in the Church Choir and Gregorian Chant Choir as a volunteer. He received his Eagle Scout Award in 1980. Dr. Byers was on several swim teams during summers, as well as the Junior and Senior High school teams. He was a member of the High School Marching Band, Concert Band, and several musical pit orchestras and music clinics.
Dr. Byers makes an annual mission trip to the Philippines where he donates his time and talent in serving the poor through personal dental care and aid.
